Complete renovation of a 52-bed Assisted Living Facility that closed during COVID-19
Project Goal
In cooperation with ownership, we are applying our extensive experience to transform a dilapidated assisted living facility into a turnkey site, recapturing critically needed beds. This project uses a service centered design approach to accommodate residents’ individual needs and provide a sense of community with easy access to services. Currently under construction with estimated completion in Summer 2025.

Challenges
The property was vacant for several years resulting in deferred maintenance that requires upgrades of several building systems. The location provides many neighborhood amenities however the property’s limited outdoor space on the site requires a creative approach to generate a space that is client centered while supporting the needs of the Operator/ Service Provider which is our ultimate goal.

Solutions
DAECO conducted a feasibility assessment including due diligence of the site to examine the conditions of the major building systems along with the framework for the necessary building upgrades and code requirements. Our team also developed a schematic design to include trauma informed design principals, maximizing outdoor space and incorporating necessary ADA and Fire-life safety features. DAECO along with ownership, engaged an architect and engineers to entitle the site and leading the construction process to produce a cohesive site with case management offices & break room, private outdoor space and designated smoking area.
